Women’s skirts and shorts in the archives sale

Soeur’s skirts move between two moods: light summer skirts that move with every step, and more structured winter skirts in wool or leather, worn with tights and boots. The archives sale brings both together, along with shorts from past collections, at reduced prices. True to the house’s spirit, a skirt is rarely worn alone: it is often paired with a piece borrowed from menswear, a men’s shirt or a double-breasted jacket that balances its femininity.

A skirt for every season

A wool skirt works for winter days at the office, worn with opaque tights, boots and a close-fitting knit. In warm weather, a long cotton or silk skirt is worn barefoot in sandals, for lunch on a terrace or a weekend by the sea. For a wedding or an evening out, a flowing skirt with a silk shirt makes an elegant outfit without looking overdressed.

Lengths and cuts

The midi skirt, falling to mid-calf, is a length often seen in the house’s collections. It works equally well with sandals or ankle boots, and leaves room for a loose knit without throwing the silhouette off balance. The wrap skirt, tied at the waist, is easy to adjust, while long, flowing skirts benefit from a closer-fitting top. As for shorts, the loose, high-waisted cuts recall those of the trousers, in a shorter version. Leather skirts, when available, are worn as a statement piece, with a substantial pullover and flat boots for a more defined look.

Putting the outfit together

A cotton skirt pairs with a tucked-in oversized shirt or a T-shirt simple one, and a wool skirt with a round-collar pullover and ankle boots, for a more wintry silhouette.
